Sally Benson

Sally M. Benson is the Precourt Family Professor in the Energy Resources Engineering Department in the School of Earth, Energy and Environmental Sciences at Stanford University. From 2014-2020 she served as the Co-Director of the Precourt Institute for Energy, and was formerly the Director of the Global Climate and Energy Project at Stanford. Her research is focused on low carbon energy solutions for both developed and emerging economies. She has published widely on CO2 storage in deep underground formations and macro-energy systems, and emerging discipline of the science of the energy transition.

Andreas Fornwald’s talent is bringing energy, focus and vision to companies. These initiatives inspired management, energized teams, cut costs, ramped up sales and dramatically increased revenues for companies such as Siemens, ABB, etc. Moreover,as CEO Andreas has rescued two companies from Chapter 11 while achieving significant growth (+40% p.y.) and a substantial market share increase of 30%+ with a two-digit EBITDA.
Andreas possesses extensive M&A experience: for instance, Siemens’ acquisition of UGS/Dallas ($2.5B) and Siemens’ acquisition of Robicon/Pittsburg ($500M). He has successfully worked with various PE funds such as Aurelius, Cerberus, Fortissimo Capital, Oaktree, Sun Capital, Sal Oppenheimer as well as investment banks including Goldman Sachs, Gulf Star and Generational. Throughout his career, Andreas has been a champion of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. He has developed high-performing teams of up to 500 personnel for companies with revenues of $400 million. Andreas has the ability to strengthen the bonds between people of different cultures to achieve a common goal. He has lived and done business around the world and is fluent in English, Spanish, Russian, German, Portuguese, French and Romanian. Agile and innovative, Andreas possesses unique, wide-ranging business expertise. He holds a Sloan Fellow MBA from Stanford University.

Apoorv Bhargava is the co-founder and CEO of WeaveGrid, a San Francisco based venture backed startup that uses machine learning to help utilities predict and manage large spikes in power demand from electric vehicle charging to balance renewable energy production and reduce costly upgrades to the grid. WeaveGrid is backed by leading climate and software venture investors, and works with several of the leading utilities around the country.
Apoorv has been passionate about climate and energy his whole career, having previously worked at Opower and The Boston Consulting Group in their energy practice, and has also spent time at NRG Energy, Joby Aviation and The Capricorn Investment Group, where he was focused on cleantech investing.
Apoorv holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and as well as a Masters of Science degree in Environment & Resources from Stanford. He graduated from Rice University with a B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and a B.A. in Economics. In 2019, Apoorv was featured on both the GreenBiz and Forbes “30 Under 30” lists in the Energy sector for his work on Weave Grid.

Nisha is the Founder & CEO of Ennuity Holdings, a startup using big data analytics to transform the business model that consumers use to buy clean energy. As an entrepreneur and executive, she has a long track record of innovation and change in the energy industry. She has previously worked in 6 energy-related startups, including Ridge Energy Storage, Tessera Solar, and ActualSun, where she was cofounder and CEO. Nisha also started her own boutique consulting firm, Aurora Clean Energy Partners to advise clients on strategic growth initiatives in renewables, while also incubating the ideas that ultimately became the foundation for Ennuity Holdings.
Nisha’s previous corporate roles include serving as the Vice President, Distributed Generation for NRG Energy and several years as a management consultant with the energy practice of Booz Allen Hamilton (now Strategy&, a PWC company). She is a former board member of the Puerto Rico Public Power Authority (PREPA) and the Texas Renewable Energy Industries Alliance. She currently serves on the boards of Pythias Inc and BikeHouston and she is a member of the Policy and Technology Impacts Advisory Council of HARC. Nisha holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Political Science and in Economics from Yale University.

Oscar Mascarenhas leads strategic innovation and business development in new energies with an emphasis on decarbonizing and re-purposing energy infrastructure for the energy transition. This comprises identifying and commercializing new technologies and developing partnerships and projects in renewables, hydrogen, CCUS and biofuels. Over a 15 year career at ExxonMobil, he has led the development of innovation, new business, and major energy infrastructure projects across the global energy production and supply value chain. Prior to Exxon Mobil, Oscar worked at the Global Climate and Energy Project at Stanford University on the integrated assessment of energy technologies and in Silicon Valley in hi-technology product development.
Oscar has served as chair (2019-2020) of mineral and renewable energy investments for the Stanford School of Earth Sciences PIF fund (executive committee member 2015-2020) and is a visiting lecturer at the Department of Energy Resources Engineering at Stanford University. He holds an MS in Management Science & Engineering (‘05) and an MS in Petroleum Engineering (‘99) from Stanford University.
