Professor Ilya Strebulaev invites you to a conversation and discussion over his latest research, where over 1,000 institutional and corporate venture capitalists (VCs) at more than 900 different firms were surveyed to learn how their decisions and investments have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Professor Strebulaev will speak on his and his collaborators' findings after comparing these latest survey answers to those provided by a large sample of VCs in early 2016 and analyzed in Gompers, Gornall, Kaplan, and Strebulaev (2020). How are venture capitalists allocating their time in these new circumstances, between helping portfolio companies relative to looking for new investments?

Ilya A.Strebulaev is the David S. Lobel Professor of Private Equity and Professor of Finance at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He's also the Co-Director of the Emerging CFO: Strategic Financial Leadership Program, and Director of the Stanford Venture Capital Initiative.

Professor Strebulaev is an expert in corporate finance, venture and angel capital, innovation financing, corporate innovation, and financial decision-making. His recent work has examined the valuation of VC-backed companies, decision making by startup investors, returns to VC investors, and impact of venture capital investments. Ilya's work has been widely published in leading academic journals and has been awarded a number of prestigious academic awards. His research has also been featured in a variety of media, including New York Times and Wall Street Journal.

The event is limited to Business School Alumni/Students.
