Former CEO of Heidrich & Struggles Tom Friel (MBA ‘73) shares his insights about how to establish yourself as a senior executive and work effectively with executive recruiters.

Tom spent almost 30 years of his career placing senior executives at global companies like Apple Computer, National Semiconductor, and Merrill Lynch—so he knows what it takes to be a successful business leader. And he also knows where people can go wrong in their efforts to move up the ladder.

Join us to hear Tom’s frank perspectives about:

  • The talent market in both large companies and startups; the technology, finance, and venture capital sectors; Silicon Valley and Asia
  • What you need to do to make yourself a compelling candidate
  • How to leverage your networks and work with executive recruiters
  • Negotiating executive compensation packages, and
  • Preparing yourself for the C-Suite and boards of directors

This session is for anyone poised to move into executive leadership, or who wants to understand the roadmap to get there. Tom will leave ample time for Q&A during the session, so please bring your questions.
