Crazy Rich Asia: Small Group Dinner with James Crabtree, author of “The Billionaire Raj”

November 14th, 7pm
Private Room at The Song of India Restaurant
33 Scotts Road
Singapore

Over a private dinner, we will be discussing the theme of rising inequality as well as the background of some of the most powerful and wealthy families in Asia with James Crabtree, author of “The Billionaire Raj: A Journey Through India’s New Gilded Age”. This event is limited to a small size to facilitate an open conversation. Chatham House rules apply. While the author was based in India, we expect the evening to cover the entire region.

James Crabtree is a Singapore-based author and journalist, and an Associate Professor of Practice at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. His best-selling book, “The Billionaire Raj: A Journey Through India’s New Gilded Age”, was released in mid-2018. It was short-listed for the FT / McKinsey book of the year. Prior to academia, James worked for the Financial Times, most recently leading coverage of Indian business as Mumbai bureau chief, between 2011 and 2016.
