The Stanford GSB DC Alumni Chapter invites you to an exclusive, thought-provoking evening featuring a fireside chat between Kara Stein, Commissioner at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Anat Admati, George G.C. Parker Professor of Finance and Economics at the Stanford GSB and Faculty Director of the school's Corporations and Society Initiative (CASI).

This event builds on Prof. Admati's visit in April 2018 for a discussion on Rethinking Corporations and Capitalism, and on CASI's mission, as featured in a June 2018 namesake article in Stanford Business Magazine. Commissioner Stein was a CASI Visiting Speaker at the GSB and we are honored to host this first off-campus CASI event for GSB alumni.

Stein and Admati will explore some of the most critical issues underpinning the complex relationship between corporations and society today. They will draw upon Stein’s tenure on the Commission to examine the impact of corporate ownership, governance, and structure. They will also delve into their backgrounds in advocacy and public service to discuss the role of public institutions and politics in addressing corporate behavior and accountability.

Their conversation will be followed by Q&A with attendees, including a discussion on how GSB alumni can become more involved in CASI's mission of facilitating informed engagement and leadership in shaping the future of capitalism.

6:30 – 7:00 pm: Informal Networking (dinner will be served)
7:00 – 7:45 pm: Fireside Chat featuring Kara Stein & Anat Admati
7:45 – 8:15 pm: Q&A with Attendees
8:15 – 8:30 pm: Wrap Up

This event will be held at the Washington DC campus of Stanford's Hoover Institution:
